Background:

   Easy Arabic is a beginner's course in Arabic in a multimedia style.
It introduces the Arabic alphabet in a logical order with a user-friendly
approach. Native speaker sound is a mouse click away. To hear a word 
pronounced, simply point and click. The user interface is intuitive and
easy to use as well.
  Easy Arabic walks the learner through the alphabet, how they are written
and pronounced and how letters join together to form words. Examples are
offered using real words with meanings right under them and pronunciation
that's a click away.
 To put more fun into the learning experience, quizzes in the form of games
are provided with on-screen feedback.
 Easy Arabic is suitable for kids below 10 years of age as well as adults.
If you are looking for a more advanced tool, try The Arabic Tutor(TM) by
the same author (this is a retail product. Check the homepage above for
more details).
 Easy Arabic is a new and revolutionary way in getting software to end users.
It is a "$10_ware". This translates into "based on the user's honesty, if
they like it and want to use it, they send $10 to the author to help pay
development costs and the author's efforts." When you install the program,
open the "register.wri" file (located in the directory where you installed
Easy Arabic), and fill the form (if you decide to continue using Easy 
Arabic). Comments are most welcome. Group/site prices are in that file.
 Unlike other products available on the Internet, Easy Arabic will not show
any pester screens, annoying messages, expiration dates or time bombs - even
if you do not register it. It was left for the user's conscience to decide.
  The order form has an option for a workbook to be sent to you if you 
choose the "with workbook" option when registering. The prices quoted for
the "with workbook" option cover postage.

 You may be wondering, why no drawings, songs, kid-like stuff. In this 
release, I had to struggle against time, space and resources. If you are 
good at drawing little objects on a computer (fish, rabbits, carrots, books,
people etc), let me know. I need kids-oriented stuff, consistent and in
specific size/# of colors (i.e clip art no good).

System Requirements:

Easy Arabic requires Microsoft Windows 3.1 or later, 4 MB RAM, a mouse,
VGA or better monitor, a Windows compatible sound card and around 4 MB on
the hard disk. It works fine under Windows 95.

Installation:
^^^^^^^^^^^^^
  IMPORTANT: If you got the ezyArabi.zip file only, it will be equivalent
  to Ezy1.zip in the instructions below. You can get the other two (ezy2.zip
  and ezy3.zip) at no charge from the author's homepage (WWW) at:

               http://darkwing.uoregon.edu/~alquds

   Also, if you REGISTER AND CHOOSE THE "SEND WORKBOOK" OPTION, you can
     get the required files by mail: simply write a short note on your
     registration form requesting the files.

To save download time, I split the files into 3 archive files. Ezy1.zip 
produces the setup disk, while ezy2.zip and ezy3.zip contain the necessary
sound files (remember everything is copyrighted - you are not allowed to 
distribute/modify any file or use it to make a derivative product).
 The installation takes two steps:
1. having unzipped ezy1.zip to a floppy, start Windows then, from
Program manager, choose File, Run and type A:setup (or b:setup) and follow
instructions. Make sure only Program Manager is running during setup.
 If installing under Windows 95, ignore the "cant copy ddeml.dl_ ..." warning.

2. the above step produces a program without sound, so you need to add the
sound files. Unzip each of the files(*) ezy2.zip, ezy3.zip to the EASY ARABIC
PROGRAM DIRECTORY (where you installed it). This completes the installation
process.
